About us
The Society for Conservation GIS (SCGIS) Bulgaria is an international chapter of the non-profit organization SCGIS, located in the USA. The SCGIS mission is “To support and grow an inclusive global community using geospatial technology for conservation of biodiversity, natural environments, and cultural heritage” (scgis.org).
The SCGIS Chapter Bulgaria was founded in 2009. It consists of an informal community of SCGIS members from Bulgaria, working in the field of applying GIS and remote sensing methods to conserve natural and cultural heritage, as well as cultural heritage sites.
